For the past decade I have occasionally published Life Stinks I Like The Kinks, a magazine of writing about popular music, obsessive personality, drunkenness and cruelty. I have been slowly working on compiling this writing into a book. The book will collect material from the six published issues of Life Stinks, some personal correspondence, hate mail, words I’ve observed scrawled on the wall above urinals and operating tables, cryptic lines muttered under the breath of robed lunatics who have been following me on my nightly walks through Kings Cross…
I have been revisiting this work recently, and I’ve put together a playlist of songs from the first couple of issues, enjoy the listen with some samples of writing below. This will help me get some momentum behind the project, I don’t like focusing on the past and past glories but I’m happy with this writing and project and I’d like to finish it soon.
